Voice control is the new user interface to the connected lifestyle.

According the Parks Associates’ Q2 216 survey, 40% of US Smartphone owners use the voice recognition software on their device. Now, the push for voice control use cases is extending beyond the phone to other devices in the home. Amazon Echo uses natural language to handle a number of pre-programmed retrieval tasks (e.g., alarm, lists, weather, music, traffic) and answers questions based on information from Wikipedia. Amazon is aggressively building a large number of partners for its Echo device ecosystem and Alexa voice control solution. Its partnerships with multi-room audio manufactures such as Sonos could enable a voice-control access point in every room of the house.
