What began as an OEM radio repair and advanced exchange company has evolved to service over 4,000 customers in over a dozen industries.

As the company grew successful with automotive radio repair and remanufacturing, technology was seeping into every aspect of consumerism. In the late 1980s, while at the peak of their radio repair volumes for Ford, General Motors and Chrysler, Advanced Technical Services management decided it was time to diversify.

In 1988, ATS became a sales and service center for Cellular One (now AT&T). Before long they were selling thousands of new cell phones monthly and supported phone repairs for customers like Cellular One, Motorola, Nokia, Ericsson and Audiovox. By the mid-1990s ATS had seven cellular sales and service locations in three Midwest states.

In 1999 the company decided it was time to diversify again, this time in the Telecom sector with suburban-Chicago-based company Eltek (now Delta). Within a few years, Advanced Technical Services became Eltek’s North American Depot Repair Center, taking in tens of thousands of rectifiers each year.

Advanced Technical Services was gaining national recognition for customized OEM remanufacturing, repair, warehousing and fulfillment solutions. So much so that Avrio RMS (acquired by Fluidmesh in 2011 and then Cisco in 2020) reached out to ATS is 2005 for assistance with Chicago Blue Light Camera sub-assembly. The program evolved into a complete assembly and testing support solution for security cameras in many other major US cities.

Today, ATS supports customers in a variety of industries with RMA management including repair, modification and testing services, as well as product warehousing and fulfillment on global scale.
