ATS’ Automotive division, D&B Automotive announced today that they have entered into a distribution agreement with William and Lake LLC.  to distribute their Pulse Collision Avoidance System to new car dealers.

The Pulse rear-end collision avoidance system is an inexpensive, easy to install, and highly profitable safety device for car dealers and their customers.

The Pulse system causes the 3rd brake light to pulse four times when the driver presses the brake pedal—altering following drivers that your vehicle is stopping or slowing.

The Pulse system was demonstrated in Department of Transportation and Original Equipment Manufactures’ studies to be very effective at alerting distracted drivers that a car in front of them is slowing and thereby help to reduce or prevent rear-end collisions.

Company President, Dave Vikartofsky noted that the Pulse system provides both an improved safety experience for new car buyers as well as an additional profit opportunity for new car dealers.

Key facts

  • Rear end collisions happen every 8 seconds in the U.S. (NHTSA 2010)
  • The human eye recognizes flashing light more quickly than it recognizes solid lights (AMAHURT Study 2010)
  • The flashing brake light improves reaction time of the driver behind you by 40% (NHTSA 2010)
